Quest Diagnostics Named to Forbes’ 2022 List of America’s Best Employers for Women for Fourth Consecutive Year

SECAUCUS, N.J., (August 3, 2022) - Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), the world's leading provider of diagnostic information services, announced it has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Women for the fourth consecutive year.

Quest was among one of only thirteen companies in the Health Care and Equipment Services Category, and the only diagnostic information services company to attain the designation.

“We are proud to be named to the 2022 Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Women as it is a reflection of our deep commitment to support our female employees who account for over 70 percent of our overall workforce, over 42% of senior management and half our board of directors,” said Cecilia McKenney, Quest’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “Quest has a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and advancing women in leadership roles.”

As part of its commitment to empowering women in leadership, Quest launched the Women in Leadership (WIL) Employee Business Network (EBN) in 2009 to build and expand the leadership pool and create a competitive advantage for the company by enabling women to reach their full potential.  WIL cultivates an effective, diverse and sustainable organization by building a community of gender diversity and increasing educational and networking opportunities for women. WIL is one of Quest’s 10 EBNs, all of which are open to all employees and are actively engaged in driving advocacy and influencing a culture of belonging.

“As a founding member of WIL, I have witnessed firsthand how this group has helped to empower and develop female colleagues through programing, mentorship, and networking opportunities that enable our members to reach their full potential,” said Cathy Doherty, Senior Vice President, Regional Businesses.

Quest’s MentorQuest program aims to support the professional development of high-achieving mid-level leaders--primarily women and people of color—by helping them build a mentor relationship with a senior executive. The program provides additional learning opportunities outside of the mentoring relationship to accelerate mentees’ development in preparation of future leadership roles at Quest.

Forbes partnered with global data research firm Statista Inc. to identify the companies that are leading the way in supporting women inside and outside their workforces. The list was compiled by surveying 50,000 Americans—30,000 women and 20,000 men—working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. All respondents were asked to rate their organizations on criteria such as working conditions, diversity and how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. These responses were reviewed for potential gender gaps. Statista then asked female respondents to rate their employers on factors such as parental leave, discrimination and pay equity and to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. Representation at the executive and board levels was also factored into the final score.
