Gazelle for Android is now available for download free of charge at Gazelleapp.com and in the Android Market at market.android.com.  Gazelle was originally introduced in October of last year for the Apple iPhone® and BlackBerry® platforms.

With Gazelle, patients in 33 states and the District of Columbia can receive their Quest Diagnostics laboratory test results directly on their smartphone.  In addition, users can see, store and share their vital health information with ease and security while on the go.

"Quest Diagnostics is committed to empowering patients to take charge of their health," said Neil Desai, General Manager, Mobile Health, Quest Diagnostics.  "With the availability of Gazelle for Android, we have expanded the reach and capabilities of our revolutionary health management platform."

Among the new features in the latest release of Gazelle:

  • Improved information sharing capabilities for email and fax;
  • And, based on user suggestions, the ability to add contact information for multiple pharmacies and insurance companies in a single account.

Gazelle also features a mobile appointment scheduling application that allows patients to either enter their zip code to find a local Quest Diagnostics location, or to use the smartphone's GPS capability, which automatically identifies the patient's current location and displays the next available appointment times at the closest Quest Diagnostics locations.
