UnitedHealth Group said it is bringing value-based models to lab testing in new long-term deals it has signed with Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp, the nation's largest U.S. diagnostic test companies. The deals announced Thursday evening renew a contract with LabCorp, which UnitedHealth said will continue to serve as UnitedHealthcare’s “exclusive national laboratory provider until Jan. 1, 2019."

Humana Inc. joined a potent group of health care companies to look into creating a massive database of information provider with blockchain technology.
